CAM offers everyone free introductory flights with no obligation to become a member.  Just Contact us to set up yours.

Becoming a member of Central Arizona Modelers takes only two steps.  First is joining the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) which is the
national organization that provides our insurance coverage.  Joining AMA is easy to do online.  Go to www.modelaircraft.org and select the
“Membership” link or just click on the AMA logo.  You can choose either a full year’s membership or a 3-month trial membership.
The second step is completing a CAM membership form.   You can
return it by mail or in person at our flying field.  Like AMA, there are several
membership options.  All options will give you member benefits including
free flight training and help in choosing the right kind of aircraft,
building a new plane or any kind of equipment problems

CAM is operating under permit with the Red Rock District of the Coconino National Forest.

CAM is a nondiscrimination organization that uses the US Department of Agriculture Nondiscrimination Statement. The USDA nondiscrimination statement can be found at:

Even experienced pilots welcome the help of fellow club members in identifying technical issues, learning new flight routines and keeping up with new things in the hobby.

May Fly this year was held with mostly high wind conditions. We had 21 registered pilots; 25 CAM members attended.  We also had 4 out of town pilots. 14 CAM member volunteers.  Big thanks to the volunteers and pilots who entertained us.

This year we had a story and photos about the event in the newspapers of Sedona, Cottonwood and Camp Verde.  Inquiries with the people who came to see the event indicated that at least 10 of them said that they had heard about it from the newspaper stories. One new adult member joined CAM and 2 became associate members.

John Potts was again chasing aircraft around the field to create really great videos. Check out Bear Videos on YouTube.   Ray Scott won the top raffle prize.  The food was good and the opportunity to meet new people and enjoy good conversation was wonderful.  The Potluck drew 17 participants. The board is looking into ways to improve May Fly and the club for the future.

The event competitions were won by the following competitors;  SPOT LANDING…Charles DeLay,   RC RACE 1 (Friday)…John Potts,  RC RACE 2 (Saturday)…Jacie Gomez,  RC RACE GRAND CHAMPION… Jace Gomez,  CARRIER CONTEST…Charles DeLay.     See photos below
